Embryos are created through the Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). In order to minimize multiple pregnancies, excess embryos are cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen for future use. Eventually, a caring and compassionate couple, the donating parents, decide to donate these frozen embryos. Rather than destroy the embryos or donate them to science, the donating parents believe their cryopreserved embryos deserve a chance at life and a needy individual or couple deserves a chance at parenthood. It is a wonderful and amazing gift. Visit Embryo Donation International to learn more about our unique program at SRMS and to search our database to find donated embryos, learn how to donate embryos or to search our donor database. For more information, call 239-275-8118. Be sure to watch The Fertility Chase on Saturday, May 15 on WE tv, the Women’s Entertainment cable television network. Dr. Sweet and several of his patients will be featured in the show, highlighting the issue of embryo donation. For more information, call 239-275-8118.
